Outcomes

The Higher Certificate (HC) in Radio & Podcasting is about bridging into an AFDA Undergraduate degree by learning the basic skills to work for a radio station as an assistant.

TERMLY OBJECTIVES:

TERM 1: Understand radio genres, presentations styles, assistant role in managing a radio station
TERM 2: Will be able to operate studio equipment and field sound devices, understand and maintain copyright as it pertains to the responsibilities of a studio assistant
TERM 3:  Research programmes and prepare for transmission, understand and comply with Radio Legislative frameworks as it pertains to the responsibilities of a studio assistant
TERM 4: Prepare for and assist in aspects of a live radio/podcast transmission

CAMPUSES: The HC in Radio & Podcasting is registered to be offered at the Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban & Port Elizabeth Campuses.

ENROLMENT: First (March – December) Semester Enrolment is available at all the SA Campuses.

AFDA is the South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance, and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a private higher education institution under the Higher Education Act, 1997. Registration certificate no. 2001/HE07/012.
