The AFDA Botswana campus opened on the outskirts of Gaborone in 2015 at the at the Oodi College of Applied Arts & Technology (OCAAT) Campus premises.
Together with their Botswana partners, Tsholofelo Ntshingane and Dr Mothusi Phuthego, AFDA Botswana’s mission is creating a powerful network of filmmakers and actors to build the Botswana entertainment industry.
AFDA Botswana will initially offer its fully accredited and registered Bachelor of Arts (Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance) for first year students as a four-year programme, as well as its one year Higher Certificate or Postgraduate Honours degree. AFDA Botswana is also BQA approved for the BCom in Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship which together with the arts programmes will create a powerful network of graduates in business, arts and technology: the combination of these integrated degrees are designed to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future.

Introduction about the OCAAT campus
Oodi College of Applied Arts & Technology (OCAAT) is an institution 100% owned by the Botswana government, sitting at Oodi village in Kgatleng District and is 10km away from the capital city Gaborone. It was officially opened on May 2012. It is a technical college that offers BTEP programs and is the only technical college that offers Jewellery design course in Botswana. OCAAT has offered AFDA Botswana some facilities to use. As a result these two institutions are working together to improve the education system of Botswana nation.
AFDA is the South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance, and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a private higher education institution under the Higher Education Act, 1997. Registration certificate no. 2001/HE07/012.
