Three AFDA films selected to screen at Seoul International Film Festival

AFDA is proud to announce that three AFDA student films have been selected to screen at the Seoul International Film Festival. The films selected are 2018 Port Elizabeth campus honours film “Isikhalo: The Outcry” and the 2019 Cape Town campus 3rd year experimental films “Greg” and “Gulf”.

Two AFDA alumni Oscar candidate films are also screening at the festival, “Noem My Skollie”, directed by Daryne Joshua and “The Wound”, produced by Elias Ribeiro and Cait Pansegrouw.

Also, the Seoul International Film Festival and the Embassy of South Africa have partnered to present Showcase: South Africa, a celebration of South African filmmaking and culture. The event will be held of Heritage Day, Tuesday, September 24th, 2019 from 17:00 to 22:00 at Emu Artspace in Jongno-gu. Events include a traditional braai on the scenic rooftop prepared by Reza Carr of Hidden Cellar and two floors of cinemas playing a selection of South African feature films, documentaries, and short films. South Africa’s new ambassador to Korea will deliver the opening address. 

The Seoul International Film Festival / ?? ????? is a global celebration of films and filmmaking in the heart of Korea. This September, filmmakers & film lovers will gather in one of the world’s most dynamic cities to honour the craft.

This year, the festival is collaborating with Seoul Global Cultural Center, Emu Art Space, Yeonhee Art Theater, and I ART SEOUL Space to create unforgettable experience.
