What is enrolment?

Enrolment at AFDA is the final step to complete before beginning your studies for the year. Every student, both new and returning need to go through enrolment to ensure the documents submitted and the agreement signed is valid for the year ahead in which you will be studying at AFDA.

When and Where?

Undergraduate: 14 January - 2 February

Postgraduate: 21 January - 2 February

Higher Certificate: 25 February - 7 March

Once you have applied and registered you can complete your enrolment online or on your chosen campus during the enrolment window.

How?

Enrol in 3 easy steps:

Step 1 – Enrolment form

If you have applied, been accepted and paid registration, OR you are a current student returning for another year of study at AFDA, you need to:

  • Create an account login on the AFDA website
  • Fill out the Enrolment Form and attach required documents
  • Once all is submitted, you will receive an email confirmation

Step 2 – Enrolment processing:

  • Once you have submitted the complete enrolment form, it will go through a verifying process by the AFDA Registry Department
  • Once finalised and all deliverables are in place, you will receive an email confirmation and your fees invoice with further instructions to complete

Step 3 – Student card and access

  • Submit hard copy signed documents downloadable in previous steps
  • Collect your Student Card so that you can access the campus for classes

 

Checklist – What to bring:

  • Certified copy of ID/Passport
  • Certified copy of Senior Certificate, OR Highest Equivalent Academic Qualification
  • 2 colour ID photographs
  • Certified copy of fee payers ID
  • Proof of payment
  • Certified copy of proof of residency of fee payer
  • Completed enrolment and tuition agreement, completed in black pen with all signatures and each page initialled
  • Proof of study visa (International students)
  • Proof of SA residence (International students)
  • Medical Aid Insurance Cover for SA (International students)

REGISTRATION & ACCREDITATION

AFDA is registered as the South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance, and is a private higher education institution which offers higher certificate and degree programmes. It is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) as a private higher education institution under the the Higher Education Act, 1997. Registration certificate no. 2001/HE07/012. Our programmes are accredited and we participate productively in the ongoing reaccreditation and quality assurance processes of the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) to ensure the quality of our programmes.
