AFDA Port Elizabeth 2017 3rd year undergraduate film, “Bear”, directed by Wesley Roodt, has been selected to screen at the 39th edition of the Sport Film Festival. The SFF will be held from Monday, December 10th to Sunday, December 16th 2018 (Sports Week). The SFF ends with the awards ceremony (Grand Gala). During the Grand Gala the prize named “Golden Paladin” will be assigned to the best films in competition; the FC can be assign some special “Golden Paladins” to the most important figures of the year in sport and sports journalism.
For the 2018 editions, SFF received more than 1.600 different films from all over the world. The most active countries are USA and India, both with 46 submitted films. Italy, Sport Film Festival’s motherland, have 32 interesting film in competition and more than 100 films are from European Community.
More than 38 different languages, to a real cultural exchange between different traditions and different way to communicate. An important event where sports meet cinema and together meet tourism and audience.
