“’Crazy in Love’ (Based on John Irving’s novel ‘Until I Find You’) was a project making a dream collaboration come true for me and co-artistic director of a conspiracy of clowns, Rob Murray and alchemist set and costume designer, Jayne Batzofin. We’ve always wanted to work with Prof. Andrew Buckland and then this happened. ‘Crazy in Love’ played in Johannesburg in association with the Market Theatre and has travelled to Grahamstown Festival where it won the Standard Bank Ovation award, the Amsterdam Fringe Festival, where it won best international production and now our little beastie has been nominated for 2 Naledi Theatre awards! We are glowing proud parents!” says Liezl.
The nominations took place at the Laager Theatre at the Market Precinct in Newtown, Johannesburg. It was also announced that this year’s ceremony will be televised. The Naledi Theatre awards takes place in April 2016.
