From entrepreneurship to media and fashion, Tehillah Dube, an aspiring AFDA Cape Town BCOM in Business Innovation student, has her heart set on success. We find out why AFDA, renowned for encouraging a creative and collaborative learning environment, is her tertiary institution of choice.

“I am a passionate young South African woman who wishes to influence the overall landscape of our Nation through Education, Business, Media and Politics and I believe AFDA has the capacity to assist me in merging all these passions.
AFDA is a uniquely South African university that has created an impressive record in raising leaders in the Film and Technological industries and now is venturing into the Business space with a very innovative BCOM degree which I am interested in as it will certainly empower me to fulfil my goals.

No other university seems to understand how to bring together different industries and give young people an opportunity to learn in a collaborative atmosphere, which I am very attracted to and excited to experience.

I had never been the model student in terms of the school system, how it is orchestrated and carried out, resulting in self-doubt with my education and capacity to have a positive attitude towards it. Through growing up, I’ve come to the conclusion that these ‘conventional’ school systems can be quite constricting and narrow in their approach to education for the right-brained student, like myself; leaving young people job dependent yet unemployable.  AFDA’s approach to education breaks through these barriers, being very appealing and exactly what I had always hoped school would be like. It is my desire to influence high school education to be offered in the manner that AFDA does.

I believe AFDA is the right university for me as it allows a cross sectional collaboration of all the different courses and I believe it will empower me to be able to be a Leader not only in Government but also in Media and the Fashion and Beauty Industry, changing and creating new spectrums in those businesses.
