AFDA 2nd year films screen in Namibia

Two AFDA Cape own 2nd year films, ‘Sold Out’ and ‘That was a long time ago’, directed by Namibian motion picture student, Leon Mubiana, screened at the 2017 Namibian Theatre and Film Awards held in Windhoek. Leon was also nominated for the Best Script Award for his film ‘Sold Out’.


Aside from being a student Leon is also a freelance filmmaker, graphic designer and a hip-hop artist. He has worked on various projects including the design of prospectuses and journals for the International University of Management, book and pamphlet designs for the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Land and Resettlement in Namibia. Recent film projects include four advertisements he wrote, produced and directed for New Era Publication Corporation.


He has a diploma in Information Technology from the Institute of Information Technology, a Certificate in Computer Networking at Polytechnic Center of Entrepreneur Development and Higher Certificate in Motion Picture from AFDA Cape Town.
